Marlo

Orrkid's That Girl
(Ch. Orrkid's Handful of Stars ex Sliffe's Foxy Roxy)
03/20/92 - 09/26/02

Marlo was a puppy we received in lieu of a
stud fee. Our Sonny was her sire.

She was shown some as a
youngster but did not really like to show (somewhat like her father :-) ).
Instead she was our companion, couch potato and Queen of all she surveyed. Marlo
loved our grandchildren dearly. I don't have many photographs of her
growing up because we got a video camera and didn't take many still pictures.
I do have pictures of her as she got older - even some as Krissy's nanny :-).

We bred Marlo twice. Once in 1994 to
Wesan's Nordic Prince. The litter was whelped on April 23 - three flashy
fawn bitches, one plain fawn bitch and one flashy fawn dog. We kept one of
the fawn bitches (Desiree).

Her second litter was out of Ch. Barisle's
Special Premium and was delivered via caesarian on November 1, 1995 - one flashy
brindle bitch. We kept this one - Annie. She had a rough start since mama
Marlo didn't have much milk. Marlo also decided after one week that she
didn't need to take care of this puppy anymore so I became Annie's mama.

As she aged, Marlo developed what we
believe was degenerative myelopathy. When she was not able to get around well
anymore, we made the decision to let her go. She was the Queen and she is greatly missed.
