Hilda

Thornhilda Baldr
(Ch. Millan's Fashion Hint, SOM ex Ch. Shoreline's Jewel Noel)
9/12/73 - 8/10/83

We purchased our first Boxer in October of 1973 from
Dr. Bob Conrad, a plain brindle bitch as a pet.
Because of her pedigree, Bob wanted the opportunity to help us with her breeding. Her first litter, whelped 4/16/76, was 4 flashy puppies - 1 fawn bitch, 1 brindle bitch and 2 brindle dogs. Unfortunately, one of the dogs was a monorchid so he was neutered and placed in a pet home.
The two bitches were placed in show homes by Bob. Both became champions - one was also a Dam of Merit
(April) and the other was the dam of 2 Best in Show dogs (Baffy).
We kept the other male (Ryan) and he became our first show dog.

Hilda was bred 2 more times. On 5/30/77, she had another litter of 4 - 2 plain fawn dogs, 1 plain fawn bitch and 1 flashy fawn dog.
Again, the flashy dog was a monorchid so he was neutered and sold as a pet. The third litter, whelped 2/9/79, was a c-section.
She had 3 puppies, one of which died a couple of days later. The two remaining were a flashy fawn dog (monorchid) and a plain brindle dog.

Hilda was the beginning of our many years in boxers. She lived to be nearly 10 and began to have problems with controlling the muscles in her rear legs.
When she could not navigate to the door, up and down stairs, or even off of the couch, we sent her peacefully to the Rainbow Bridge.
