About Us

Steve & I were married in September of 1971.  Our son, Scott, was born in June of 1973 and we bought our first boxer in October of 1973. We have not been without a boxer since that time, all of them as pets and companions as well as our show dogs.

Our son is married and we have three grandchildren - Joshua, Megan, and Kylie.  We couldn't have picked a better daughter-in-law (Shelly).

We are active members of the Missouri Valley Boxer Club, the Platte Valley Kennel Club, the Nebraska Kennel Club and the American Boxer Club.  I am also a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church & School - involved in several groups and serving on the School Board.

I am currently on several dog related mailing lists which keep me very busy reading and answering e-mail.  I have made some lasting friendships from these lists.

Many people ask how we came up with our kennel name. When Steve and his brothers were little, my mother-in-law used to tell people that she raised orchids (Orr Kids).  It seemed an appropriate name for our "furkids".

We have a son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren as well as brothers, sister and mothers, all who live nearby and whom we love dearly. We have many wonderful friends - both inside and outside of the dog community.  We are truly blessed.
